Our signature annual event is almost here: three early summer performances held in Bard’s lovely and acoustically exceptional Olin Hall with internationally acclaimed musicians. We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s line-up:
- May 31: Parker Quartet
- June 7: Aeolus Quartet
- June 14: Espressivo!
You can now buy package tickets to all three concerts at a significant discount through the Fisher Center (click the “Buy Tickets” button above). To purchase tickets to individual concerts and to learn more about each program, scroll below. Please note: Once again, all performances will be held on *Sunday afternoons at 4PM* (rather than Saturday evenings) in order to accommodate a wider audience. Also, this year our first concert takes place at the end of May rather than the beginning of June.

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, The Poiesis Quartet will be unable to perform as scheduled on May 31st. While Poiesis will be missed, HVCMC couldn’t be more delighted to have the The Parker Quartet play in their stead.
Praised for their “exceptional virtuosity [and] imaginative interpretation” (The Washington Post), and firmly established as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation since its founding in 2002, The Parker Quartet program will include works by Beethoven and Brahms, alongside a work by Paul Wiancko, composed for the ensemble and first performed by them in 2013.
- Beethoven: String Quartet No. 11 in F Minor, Op. 95, “Quartetto serioso”
- Paul Wiancko: Strange Beloved Land
- Brahms: String Quartet No. 3 in B-flat Major, Op. 67
You won’t want to miss the Parker Quartet this Sunday! (Please note: we’re currently working on ticketing updates. However, if you buy [or have already bought] discounted tickets to all three concerts, that will include The Parker Quartet’s concert this Sunday, May 31.)

With performances acclaimed for both “high-octane” excitement (The Strad) and “dusky lyricism” (New York Times), the Aeolus Quartet has been awarded prizes at nearly every major competition in the United States and performed across the globe with showings “worthy of a major-league quartet” (Dallas Morning News). Their program features a newly revised version of Wild Summer by HVCMC’s very own Advisory Director, the renowned local composer, Joan Tower.
- Wolfgang Amadé Mozart: String Quartet No. 15 in D minor, K. 421
- Joan Tower: Wild Summer
- Grażyna Bacewicz: String Quartet No. 3
- Felix Mendelssohn: String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80

The HVCMC 2026 Summer Series culminates with the return of our Artistic Directors Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson and their acclaimed piano quartet Espressivo! featuring the stellar violist Milena Pájaro-van de Stadt, a founding member of the Dover Quartet, and the award-winning pianist Anna Polonsky, one of chamber music’s most sought-after collaborators. This year’s program will feature beloved works by Beethoven and Schumann and a reprise of Richard Danielpour’s Book of Hours, co-commissioned by the Hudson Valley Chamber Music Circle and premiered on our series at Olin Auditorium in 2007. This year will mark the 26th anniversary of Jaime and Sharon’s artistic leadership.
- Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 16
- Richard Danielpour: Book of Hours, co-commissioned by HVCMC
- Robert Schumann: Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 47
